There’s a very affirmative and thoughtful review of THE SYLLABUS OF ERRORS in today’s EASTERN DAILY PRESS.
“Ashley Stokes’s first published book was a novel, Touching the Starfish. On the evidence of these stories, he is well (better?) suited to the short form. The best stories are atmospheric, evocative, romantic and frequently tender. They are shot through, as well, with the flashes of wit and playful use of language familiar from his earlier novel. The Syllabus of Errors is a fine, strong collection.”
